JACK DEMPSEY NAMED FOR WALLABIES’ SPRING TOUR

Gordon Rugby and NSW Waratahs back rower, Jack Dempsey, has been named as one of four development players to join the 32-man Wallabies squad travelling to Europe for the Spring Tour.

Dempsey made his Super Rugby debut for the NSW Waratahs in round 14 of 2015. He has since made a name for himself as a powerful ball runner for the Tahs, starring for the team on 11 occasions in 2016 and crossing for three tries.

Dempsey has since had an impressive campaign in this year’s Buildcorp NRC for the semi-finalists, the Sydney Rays and 2016 minor premiers and runners-up, the NSW Country Eagles respectively.

He joins NSW Waratahs Andrew Kellaway, Queensland Reds duo Izaia Perese and Taniela Tupou as the four development players included by Head Coach Michael Cheika.

The four will train with the squad as an introduction to the International level.

Perese, Dempsey and Kellaway are each eligible for Australia’s tour game against the French Barbarians in Bordeaux on November 24, while Tupou is 12 months away from completing his three-year residency requirement under World Rugby regulations.
