Former Wallaroos captain, Ashleigh Hewson, signs with Gordon Women’s for 2021 season.
We are beyond excited to welcome Ash to our XVs team for the upcoming season. Bringing an incredible amount of skill and experience Ash will be taking on a role as player/coach using her knowledge as a talented flyhalf/fullback to further develop our backline.
Ash has an incredible rugby CV having attended the 2010, 2014 and 2016 world cups as a member and captain of the Wallaroos side. Receiving her first Wallaroos cap in 2009 against Samoa, Ash is the most capped Wallaroo in history and all-time points scorer. Among many more incredible feats in the Super W matches, Ash lead the NSW team to the inaugural Super W title in 2018 kicking a high-pressure penalty goal in overtime.
Ash has long been committed to Club rugby and developing the next generation of players and we are beyond excited to be seeing her in tartan in 2021.
