GRFC PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Members
Our 22nd Annual General Meeting was held last Thursday night at Chatswood Oval.
It is with great pleasure that we announce that Norm Tasker was awarded Life Membership of Gordon Rugby Football Club for his commitment and involvement over many years as a referee, coach, manager and committee member with Chatswood, Gordon, NSW and Australian teams.  Well done Norm – we salute you!
Congratulations to the Board Members elected to represent GRFC in 2018.  I will be ably assisted by our existing Directors Andrew Dainton, Vanessa Gliddon, Angus Kingsmill and Liz Swinburn who continue to contribute hugely to our Club and have worked together to achieve great financial outcomes.  We welcome new Directors Tony Cooper who has been heavily involved with SJRU and Women’s Rugby, and ex-UTS scholarship holder, Josh Mitchell, who is the first player on the Board since Beau Wilson in 2014 and an important link to our sponsorship with UTS as well as the coach of our Women’s team.
We are indebted to four of our Directors who will be standing down from their duties on the Board – Hilton Chapman and Rick Seton for their invaluable advice on all matters legal, Georgia Separovich for her ground-breaking work setting up the GRFC Foundation and John Taylor for his tireless work with the Finance Committee.
Congratulations to our two Colts, Nick Brown and Hugh Margin, for their selection in the 2017 Junior Wallabies squad.
To all our conscientious volunteers and generous sponsors, we couldn’t do it without you – thank you so much for everything you have done for Gordon Rugby in 2017.  We look forward to your continued support in 2018.
