NEW HEAD COACH FOR 2017 ANNOUNCED
I am delighted to inform all members and interested Gordon supporters that, as announced at our recent Presentation Night, Mark Philp has been appointed Gordon’s Head Coach for 2017.
Mark’s appointment follows a most thorough selection process whereby a selection committee received and assessed no fewer than 16 high quality applications.
Mark was an assistant 1st grade coach to Geoff Townsend this year and has been coaching with Gordon since his arrival from Scotland in 2009. Mark brings to the job great knowledge and experience of both playing and coaching rugby. He has also demonstrated a great love of and loyalty to our club. Mark continues our proud Scottish tradition, not that his Scottish ancestry counted in the selection process! I wish Mark and his coaching staff (which he is in the process of choosing) all the best for the coming 2017 season.
I trust we will all give Mark the support and encouragement he will need as he embarks upon the challenge of lifting club’s overall performance.
