Rob Allen Sportsman of the Year
Erik Moss
Awarded to a player who posses an excellent attitude, has made an excellent contribution to the club and has also performed extremely well on the field.
Rob was a talented Second rower who hailed from New Zealand and played many games for the club in the 80’s, Rob was a real team player who would often do an extra half hour of fitness after training to crack the First Grade squad. He had a few games in the top squad but his career was cut short by a terrible shoulder injury. He continued to study and live close by attending all home games. Sadly and tragically, Rob took his own life and the club had lost one of its favourite sons. The Gordon Club kept their contact with his parents in New Zealand and asked for their permission to name an award after him. Hs parent we thrilled that the memory of him would live on through Gordon Rugby Club.
