Spirited Effort Not Enough

Gordon went down to West Harbour on the weekend in a nail biter, 26 to 27. Gordon dominated and controlled 60 minutes of the game and unfortunately wasn’t able to put in the killer punch.

Gordon scored 3 tries to 2, however, they just couldn’t close the game out, letting in 10 points in the last 15 minutes. Even though it is the 6th loss by 7 points or less this season, Gordon probably put in one of their most complete games all season.

Mark Johnson, one of the team leaders had a strong game, leading from the front with his trade mark physical presence. Will Shirvington showed his strength at the back wearing 15 and controlling the field position with a clinical kicking game.

This weekend sees a split round in which Gordon Grade have a bye and return on the 11th for a home game against Penrith. First grade will kick off at 3.30pm to make space for our village clubs to play their exhibition match at 3pm.

Gordon Colts will play Penrith at Chatswood oval this weekend starting at 3pm, unfortunately the Penrith 2nd grade colts team has folded. 1st grade Colts have a strong chance of finishing the season in the top 5 and have proven they can mix it with the best in the colts competition.
